Nicholas Glasgow and Captain Robert Stewart surprised and defeated a Government force,
killing over 20 of them. This was almost the last Jacobite armed victory before the end of the
rising at Culloden, a few weeks later.
In this action there was 9 government soldiers men killed, a good number wounded, about 80 taken prisoners, and around 20 or 30 horses.
Of the Prince’s there was one French man killed, but a good many wounded, particularly Lord Ogilvie’s men.
