B ? d. 20 June 1575), son of Lady Elizabeth Stewart although it is possible his mother was Lady Helen Stewart,( Helen and Elizabeth were both daughters of John Stewart, 3rd Earl of Lennox) and James V, He is sometimes called the prior of Charterhouse, Perth however this is probably not true although he may have been a monk there. He is buried at St. Magnus, Kirkwall, Orkney; tombstone survives

In 1560 after the Reformation, Adam Stewart was no longer a monk and therefore required to be celibate. m before 1561 Janet Ruthven, daughter of William Ruthven, of Ballindean
They may have had a son and six daughters.
