JOHN Stewart
1st Earl of Traquair
SIR JOHN STEWART OF TRAQUAIR, who in 1628 was created a Baronet and also Lord Stewart of Traquair, and in 1633 EARL OF TRAQUAIR, Lord Linton, and Caberston. He m. Katherine, daughter of David, Lord Carnegie.
He died 1659.
They had issue:-
1) John Stewart, 2nd Earl of Traquair, JOHN, 2nd Earl of Traquair
2)Margaret Stewart, m. James Douglas, 2nd Earl of Queensberry,
3) Elizabeth Stewart, m. on 27 April 1643, to Patrick Murray, Lord Elibank, and had issue.
4. Catherine Stewart,
5. Magdalen Stewart, m. Thomas Hamilton of Redhouse, and had issue.
