On 8 April 1510 he had a charter from the King for the extensive lands of Duart and others in Mull which had been taken
from Lachlan MacLean of Duart and in gratitude for a gift to the King of a galley of thirty-six oars, he received the lands of Inverlochy, Terelondy, Drummyfour and Auchontor, in the lordship of Lochaber, on 9 July 1512.
He died before August 1515 and was succeeded by his younger brother, Alan.
